Instructions

Picture Puzzle Pro is a fresh and innovative take of the classic sliding tile game. Simple to learn but challenging to master, sliding tile games are a real challenge for the brain. A picture is divided up into a grid of tiles with one tile removed. The tiles are scrambled and it's your challenge to slide the tiles into their correct position. Since there is one tile missing, you can only move tiles that are next to the empty space.

Picture Puzzle Pro faithfully captures all of the fun of sliding tile games and adds features which keep the fun going even longer! With Picture Puzzle Pro, you can choose an image from either the built-in library or from your Photo Album on your device. The built-in library includes a dozen fresh images, or select your favorites snapshots directly from your Photo Album! With Picture Puzzle Pro, you can tailor the difficulty to your experience level. You can choose from Easy (3x3 grid), Medium (4x4 grid) or Hard (5x5 grid).

Main Menu

From the Main Menu, you can choose to Play a new game, see your best Scores, configure your Settings, or view the Help file.

Play A New Game

Select the Play button from the Main Menu to begin a new game. Depending on your settings, you will then see an image selection page for choosing an image from the built-in library of images or from you device's Photo Album. This setting can be changed in the Settings Menu.

After selecting an image, you will be shown an unscrambled view of the image. If you change you mind, you can tap the Back button to select a different image, or tap Start to begin.

Before tapping Start, you should get a good look at the image - it's a lot harder to play if you don't know what the final result should look like. Once you tap Start, Picture Puzzle Pro will then cut the image into a grid. Depending on your skill level (which can be configured in the Settings Menu), the image will either be divided into a 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5 grid.

The lower right tile of the image is then removed, this creates the empty space so the other tiles can be moved. Picture Puzzle Pro then scrambles the remaining tiles and play begins.

Game Play

The goal of Picture Puzzle Pro is to slide the image tiles back and forth until all of the tiles are in their correct position and the image is unscrambled. Since one tile has been removed (the lower right tile), there is one empty space in the grid. Only tiles that are adjacent to the empty space can be moved.

As a helpful aid, Picture Puzzle Pro outlines tiles that are in their correct position with a bright green frame. This is useful to give you a reference for how close you are to completeness.

To move a tile, simply tap on it. It will then swap places with the empty space next to it. Only tiles adjacent to the empty space can be moved.

At the bottom of the screen is a counter for the number of moves you have made, and the elapsed time. Your best time and fewest move count are saved for your reference.

If you need to stop the game, tap on the Pause button. This will temporarily pause the game, and from here you can choose to either Resume you game or Quit and return to the Main Menu.

Your Scores

From the Main Menu, tap on the Scores button. This will bring up a page which shows your all-time best scores. For each difficulty level (easy, medium, and hard) you are shown your fewest move count and fastest time to completion.

Game Settings

Tap on the Settings button on the Main Menu to bring up the Settings Menu. From here, you can customize:

Choose Image From: Select whether you would like to choose images from your device's Photo Album or the built-in library of images.

Level: Select your skill level - easy for 3x3 grids, medium for 4x4 grids, and hard for 5x5 grids.

Sounds: Toggle to turn on/off button press and tile sliding sounds.
